Big Sky Montana
LA Council once again participated in the FWSA Annual Ski Trip to Big Sky, Montana, in February. It was a blast. Our ever popular trip leader, Todd Hood, did his usual great job at everything. Also, the Council gifts to all the participants were cute and useful (a small backpack filled with goodies). The skiing was great, and the company, all 38 of us from LAC, had a wonderful time. It was great reconnecting with people from other clubs and councils and have a lot of fun. The resort was busy, but they took care of everyone's needs in our group. We had a couple of ladies injured early on, but they are fine now.
Our Council Night was held at a wonderful Italian restaurant, called Andiamo, that had some wonderful food, and the wine just kept flowing. The theme for the Thursday night group dinner was Wildlife Safari and LAC WON the contest. We had a Trex, a Gorilla, a giraffe, and lions and tigers (no bears though), a lion tamer, all sorts of animal print outfits. I am always amazed with our members' creativity. Our fearless leader, Todd Hood, VP of Travel, had one of the best animal print costumes I've ever seen.
LA Council won many of the races since we have 8 or 10 of the best racers in all of Far West Ski Association. Our racers are Don and Michelle Shafe, Larry Gowing, Rick Harrington, Joyce Rodela, Joyce Yamamoto, Matsuda Misuko, Earl Mitchell, Art Pressel, Shiela Symanski, and Cheryl Estrella. We did GREAT!! LAC placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in most of the race categories. There were lots of medals presented to LAC's race team that night!!! Congratulations to our racers. All those medals makes LA Council just sparkle!
We are looking forward to the FWSA Sun Valley, Idaho trip at the end of January, 2021. We are taking signups for this trip now. Check the trip flyer for more information.
